I still see the potential for a huge spread in character design within the new system.
It's one of my favourite bits that you can bring to life pretty much any character concept you come up with. It being points buy doesn't even mean all characters have to be about as "powerful" starting out as each other either. The points have to go somewhere but you can have for example a low SKILL, high LUCK character with a set of Talent and Skills that are almost completely useless for adventuring! Which personally I think is a wonderful thing.

I love where this is going, but in my opinion, WEAPON DAMAGE should be even deadlier and ARMOUR should yield more protection.
The rules there seem to be aimed at keeping typical damage after armour around the 2 point mark, which I guess is historical. But I agree it'd be good to have a bigger difference between the damage you can expect to take armoured and unarmoured. Also like the idea that high SKILL, STAM and armour don't always go together for a creature.

Scrapping LUCK in Combat. Not sure if this is the case, since I have only the first peek to go by, but it appears that Testing for Luck to reduce/increase damage sustained or inflicted has been scrapped... Luck should be strictly non-combat in my opinion.
You've probably spotted them by now but they're still there for combat (modified a bit) on page 59. The difference to the gamebooks is you want to keep some LUCK for the next adventure too! Also you never know when the Director will ask for a LUCK test to avoid some unpleasant randomness or will award any points back, so using it in combat isn't something you do lightly.
