i think fight defensively is already potent and doesn't need any help, as per skinny orc above.
Yeah, I've given some thought on this and definitely it does noe need any more help, thanks!

the issue I have with the move is that the increase of x5 speed is incredibly quick in game terms (not IRL terms).
Well, after reading your reply and searching the core book for the duration of the round, I found it to be 2 seconds (p.48 and beggining of p.58) and 10 seconds (end of p.58)... I've always found this description to be really confuse, so I just stick with the 10 second window. After defining this, I found the 10 meters to be somehow "realistic" even for gameplay.

I mean if I move fast I can still do things just not that well
You're absolutely right. I didn't find any rules regarding of what other actions you could do in combat, besides attacking, casting spells or the combat options. In our rules, you're allowed just one action per round (picking up a dropped sword, drinking a potion, casting a spell, sprinting, etc). So, you cannot run and take other actions, and that's the rationale for the bonus vs ranged attacks.

also it creates an issue in terms of the pursuit rules
That's a good point but imo, I think you overcomplicated things, because moving 2 or 10 meters will lead to the same problem you specified. I interpret the pursuit rules to take effect whenever a hero states that he will chase someone, be it inside a combat or not. If it starts inside a combat, the escapees might take blows and damage, but otherwise they would engage in the pursuit rules, as described in the book.

I have a similar issue in other games where you can do a move and an action (say an attack) and the attack is equally accurate to just making an attack: my personal experience is that moving my normal speed and making an attack at the end is much less effective compared to just standing toe to toe and making an attack.
Totally agree

I always kept the old dnd philosophy that you make a lot of attempts of attacks; the one you actually roll is just part of this fencing.
Thank you, your inputs were great!
