Yep with missile attacks it could be more like an aimed shot. So it's the same minus to hit for more damage but the description is different.

I'm not clear what you mean by "applies to all rolls" but I already read the book as you get the bonus if outnumbered and to as many opponents as are attacking. Of all the standard combat options this is the most useful so I'm not sure the Armour Roll bonus is needed.
