Those are really useful links, I'm looking to run that at some point too and a more sandboxy feel appealed to me on reading, the material seemed to lend itself to it although I am glad that it stuck closely to the originals - maybe with another party though than those PCs that are currently exploring Firetop unless I find a good reason for such a long journey from western Allansia.
