In Germany in the early 90s, my primary school library had a copy of Forest of Doom. Libraries around the area had other gamebooks.
I still remember my futile scavenger hunt to play through entire Sorcery!, as reachable libraries only had part I and III available and the German edition of Sorcery! was already OOP. It should only be years later when I was fluent enough in English to settle for the British edition.
