background shows elves really hating orcs and other evil races so for that reason they would do it themselves.
that being said if the orcs threatened to kill the princess if they did this would give them pause and they will be able to deny all knowledge if a bunch of passing humans and even a dwarf or two got involved
read most of the adventure and I like it, the evil undead thing is pretty harsh too
